Aomidoro

Aomidoro is an implementatin of recursive DNS server, which provides full-resolving and caching service. It does not provide authoritative service. In other words, Aomidoro resolves a DNS query from a client (usually a stub resolver) by contacting authoritative servers iteratively, and returns the answer to the client.

Aomidoro is distributed under a two-clause BSD license.

Features

• Recursive DNS service (full resolver and cache). No authoritative service.
• IPv4/IPv6 and UDP/TCP transport [RFC1035] [RFC3596].
• Negative caching [RFC2308].
• Extension Mechanisms for DNS (EDNS0) [RFC2671] for both client and server sides.
• Resistance to spoofing attack [RFC5452]. Unique source port numbers are used for outgoing queries. Source addresses of the authentic answers are checked.

Platforms

Aomidoro 4.1 will work on IPv6-capable unix operating systems such as NetBSD, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, OpenBSD, Debian GNU/Linux, DragonFly BSD, and Solaris.

Major tools required to compile Aomidoro are:

• C99 compiler
• lex (or flex)
• yacc (or byacc/bison/kmyacc)
